The Basics: When tough times arrive, you should work as if everything depended on you and pray as if everything depended on God.
We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope.
– Romans 5:3-4 NCV
The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
– Psalm 9:9 NASB
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
– Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
A Basic Tip: Talk about it! If you’re having tough times, don’t hit the panic button and don’t keep everything bottled up inside. Talk things over with people you can trust.
Throughout history, when God’s people found themselves facing impossible odds, they reminded themselves of God’s limitless power.
Come to Him in times of trouble, totally giving Him
all that you’re going through. Depend on Him, as
He will bring you through everything that you come upon.
God wants our attention and wants to guide us!
Remember – the One we can trust, with anything,
Search for the positive in each negative.
Making sure to continue to Seek Him Always.
Further Study of Adversity:
Corrective chastening:5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”
7Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
– Hebrews 12:5-11
Vitalizing faith:Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
– 1 Peter 5:8
Judgment brings righteousness:My soul yearns for you in the night;
in the morning my spirit longs for you.
When your judgments come upon the earth,
the people of the world learn righteousness.
– Isaiah 26:9
Always silver lining: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
– Romans 8:28

Thanksgiving and Prayer
3I thank my God every time I remember you. 4In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
– Philippians 1:3-6
Be blessed, HL
