So… as I’m sure you can see – I’ve failed at keeping up with the NaPoWriMo: Daily postings of Poetry throughout April 😦
Unfortunately I overestimated my ability to finish something again… I have good intentions when I begin, but then life seems to TAKE over = I caught some NASTY stomach bug which had me down for quite some time, before that I’d dealt with migraines and dental work. So… once I overcome today’s persistent ain (migraine, neck pain… ) I’ll be back to share links for the NaPoWriMo daily posts that I liked from others!

Until then… I bid you all well & good, Prayers & Hugs, HL

S.H.M.I.L.Y. Prayer Group for 30 Days

Hello everyone!! I’m excited to share that Amy is once again holding a 30 days of prayer event on Facebook to pray for our husbands or significant others! I participated last year and look forward to seeing God move within each of our marriages/relationships as He deems fit!

Please take a moment to read through Amy’s post regarding this event: 2nd Annual SHMILY for 30 Days of Prayer! We will be working through Stormie Omartian’s book: The Power of a Praying Wife. This year I hope to work through the study guide along with another of Stormie’s books: The Power of Prayer to Change Your Marriage. Both of these are linked to Amazon which allow previews of each! I pray this journey is a blessing within each of our homes! Please let me know if you would like to share any prayer needs within the comments of posts.

Thanks for joining us this year!

We are called to pray unceasingly (1 Thessalonians 5:17)… but today we come together for the 59th National Day of Prayer!

The theme this year:

“The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in Him”
Nahum 1:7

All around me today buzzing in the air were people talking about this day! Sitting here smiling, knowing God is pleased with those whom participated. But know that if for some reason you could not… as I began – you can pray anytime, anywhere, anything! He’s open to listening 24/7! He hears the prayers of the faithful (Psalm 6:9)!

If you’d like help… a guide in a way, with prayer – you can join others each week throughout the year daily!

7×7 involves praying for seven centers of power seven days a week: Government,MilitaryMediaBusinessEducationChurch and Family. By remembering these specific prayer points, we can cover all Americans with God’s power. Together, we will see positive change.

My prayer for today is that our leaders will keep their ears open & attentive to be lead by our Father, He is our King of kings and is able to do all things! I pray for safety and protection for those fighting for us, as well as for those sharing His love with others. I lift up godly marriages for protection from satan… let no man undo what God has joined together. … I pray for those who do not know God; for their ears to be open to receive Your Word, Lord. I thank you for Your abundance of grace upon us all. … Thank You Father for Your love and continued blessings and being in all we do. … … … In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I pray everyone had a blessed prayer-filled day!

I’m proud to say I’m a child of God, wife, busy mom of two boys… who tries to blog – to share this journey as God leads me, while I will still stumble from time to time, and thankful He pulls me – draws me – nearer to Him each day!

WFW – 2 Corinthians 4:6

Join us for Word-Filled Wednesday, our hostess is Susan @  http://susan2956.blogspot.com/ where you can find McLinky to connect with everyone else!!!

Today I share 2 Corinthians 4:6

6For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

reminding we’re to shine for Christ! A lot lately I’m being reminded this through several different vehicles,

  • Bible readings
  • Books I’m reading
  • Blogs I’m reading
  • Songs I’m singing… just coming up on the radio
    … shuffling through my iPod
    … beginning/ending Sunday services
  • Friends sharing
  • Etc.

and I’ve questioned myself too… thinking I can’t possibly be shining enough with all these reminders around. Additionally, each time I try harder to shine, the harder it actually gets. Knowing, learning again and again, the problem is one little word, I, can’t make it happen – I have to allow the Holy Spirit within to help me, since I am willing, overcome self & shine for Him!

Recently I’ve been participating in Beth Moore’s “Esther” Bible study with my church, in which led me to 2 Corinthians. We often are able to remember quickly, quote even, the Scritpure that follows this one:

7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

but what about this Verse & even the Scriptures that follows?

10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. 12So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

Can you quickly recite them? Are you carrying around the death of Jesus to reveal the life of Jesus? How is that shown for others to see easily? Are you shining His Light from your heart? Share how, or even – thank whom you’ve seen shine for Him as well!

Thank you for joining me today… I greatly appreciate

Amy @ The 160 Acre Woods continuing WFW! Each week, even if I’m not participating, I benefit from visiting others, learning so much, enjoying the sharing of God’s Word, and each time am guided to greater thoughts! Have a blessed week.

New… Moving ahead!

Hello everyone,

I know it’s been a while; but seasons are changing around here & I’m still busy!! But, busy is good – it just depends on how we look at things. I’ve been working in the elder-care field again!! Thanking God daily for using me here when home needs slow – my business is all to the glory of Him who guides me.

I wanted to stop in today to let you all know about two different books I’m about to embark on! The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie OMartian AND 31 Days of Praise: Enjoying God Anew by Ruth & Warren Myers!

So excited to share another SHMILY journey with a group on Facebook getting ready to read through The Power of a Praying Parent! I’ve had this book for quite some time – began to read it; but never finished. So hopefully this time with the accountable and encouragement – I’ll complete it!

Regardless of whether you have a book or not, you can still pray each day for your child(ren) by stopping by Amy’s blog to see the topic of the day.  She will have them listed on the sidebar of her blog, so no matter when you start, you can check them when it’s convenient for you.  Amy’s blog is: Dandelion Seeds!

Amy will also be posting on the SHMILY Time fan page, so if you would like, you can follow there as well.  You can get there by clicking the following link: http://www.facebook.com/SHMILYtime

Day 18 of our journey of SHMILY Time from our 18th chapter reading in The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie OMartian, brings us to:

His Fatherhood

How fitting is it for this reading to be coming up right around Father’s Day! Hmmm… Amy’s post for this day starts out this way too – so I’ll just share my prayer; if you’ll promise to read her post! 😉

Lord, I pray for Dave to be a good father as You’d want him to be. I thank you for his love of his children, biological & step! I praise You too for the balance we’re able to maintain as father & mother. Continue working in him to gain a clear perspective of being a good father and the door to the Holy Spirits guidance through any parenting challenges. (p.138) Draw Dave closer to You, so he can know You as his heavenly Father and learn to imitate You; I thank You Father God for revealing Yourself to me & await the joyous day my husband is able to relate!
Please heal any hurts where his own father may have failed him. Show him when to discipline and how (Eph. 6:4). I pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
